Following the review a while back by Matt Marresh of the latest (non black version) 8x10 where he had a problem with the focusing I thought it might be interesting to test the accuracy of the focusing screen on my black edition 8x10.
I set up a test target (the datacolor spyderlenscal). I measured 750mm from the lens node (lens node estimated focussed at infinity and measured from the film plane to the focal length of the lens). Took a photo and focused on the central 0 in the target. Above the target focused would suggest back focus issues and below would suggest front focus issues, two shots taken on X Ray film. There will be a small difference between this and regular film as X Ray film is slightly thinner though not sure if it is enough to effect focusing.
Will take a while to process as I've run out of fixer!
