Thank you Alan. I find the double-indirect-thorcus adjustment screw to be a source of the most finite distraction, but I am authoritatively assured that it is just passing phase. Yes, it's a splendid place that I have driven past many times over the last six years and finally managed to visit with my new camera.I really like this, especially the grass growing out of the top!
I hope the regulars her make comments, though they do seem rather pre-occupied at the moment with 100 year old cameras with missing double-indirect- thorcus adjustment screws ...![]()
I hope to revisit, it was my first trip out with a 5x4 so still finding my way.Perhaps you can do some work even closer - details of the stonework perhaps. I find that 5x4 is excellent for that sort of thing.
More than likely !You did well for your first time out. You can always make a few mistakes next time!

Yes I've got a few, that were left over when they built the Transporter bridge in Middlesbrough. Best quality Abyssinian bronze with high modulus undercut star points. How many do you want? Are you saying you have a source of double-indirect-thorcus adjustment screws Alan?
Many here are looking for a supply!

Fair point Ian , I am tray developing at the moment and scanning with a DSLR so my control is somewhat limited. Zebra tank is my current thinking and then build a scanning rig that gives me better control. Bear in mind as well , it’s Foma 100 so it’s going to be a bit blocked one end or tother so I totally get what you are saying.I'd like to see a much lighter version of the image, that would bing out the details in the grasses and also the stonework.

In open trays in my darkroomI think Ian's interpretation is a bit pale. And it makes Jevon's original photo look slightly dark.
How are you developing your sheet film Jevon?

Yes I will be buying a Stearman or a Zebra as soon as funding permits! Although your method sounds ingenious. When I first started with 5x4 I used an open tray in the darkroom. I tried developing several sheets using the shuffle method. But I couldn't make it work. Then I hit on the idea of using a 10 x 8 tray with plastic rawlplugs glued to it, like mini fence posts to divide the tray into four divisions. That allowed me to develop four sheets of film without them touching or sliding over each other. I used this method for several years before finally buying a Paterson orbital.
