I just received a mixture of camera bits I recently bought. Amongst the items are a Sinar F2 with this customised front standard frame. Anyone seen this before? I can only guess it's to hold in a heavy lens. Perhaps over engineered?
Also included is a Norma shutter with different shutter speed markings on each side. What's that all about? I really like this clean design compared to the later version with the aperture scale running vertically (which is redundant with non-Sinar DB lenses). It came with a nice all metal shutter release I haven't seen before. All the others seem to be black plastic coated. The shutter is essentially free after I split out all the other bits.

Interesting bits you picked up. The holders definitely look like they are for heavy lenses.

Did you have any luck in getting a 8x10 back with the job lot? I’ve just been in contact with a gentleman who has a Norma 8x10 kit. Another parson I spoke to who used Sinar gear when they were industry standard told me that he didn’t really like using the 8x10 conversion kit as the movements wasn’t as accurate and sturdy. He suggested I get a norma 8x10 back and change the glass.
