D23 Developing Times and Concentration

Hello

Scouring the web including this here wonderful forum I've read different answers for the min amount of stock dev required when using D23.

My plan is to standardise on D23 across the 3 Foma films

Is there any documentation from Kodak or other that states it?

The consensus seems to be 200-250ml per 80sq inches (4 4x5 Sheets) so at 1:1 in my Jobo 3010 I'm looking at 400-500 ml total per 4 sheets, does this sound correct?

As for times, its mentionoed roughly double the times when diluted as a starting point and also use d76 times in no d23 time available, however looking at d76 times for stock and 1:1 are not double.

So after all my waffling, anyone using d23 what amounts do you use and if using foma or not what recommended starting point?

I'm thinking Foma 100, d23 1:1 @20 degrees for 10 minutes to start, rotated on a old beseler color base

Thanks!

Awesome thanks, I ask as in the darkroom for a 8x10 print I had to go all the down to f22 for a 18 sec exposure time, I was worried my negs were too thin, perhaps the bulb is very bright

A 10x8 print from (presumably) a 5x4 neg is a very small enlargement. My guess would be that the lamp brightness is designed to give reasonable exposure times for 16x20 prints.
ND filters are very popular in the digital camera world. Would it be useful to introduce one somewhere in the light parh?

I have ordered some Metol and Sodium Sulphite from Nik and Trik in order to make some D23, as I haven't used it before, this is also of interest. Some people advise on D76 times plus 10% as a start.

Here is yet another resource, this time on doing divided development with D-23:

Shameless Self Promotion Follows:

I maintain a small archive of materials relevant to analogue photography (with some limited digital stuff as well) that I make available to the public. For example, I have PDFs for the sites I've noted above at:

More generally, you'll find the entire site here:

I started with 10 mins on a jobo 3010, I think the time is fine, the and as others have noted the bulb possibly too bright for the size print I am making
