Toyo Closing?

I saw something about about Toyo closing at the end of this month. It would be a real shame as I really like their film holders, I mainly use them and have a few new ones as well as secondhand ones.

I have a near mint early Toyo Half Plate Field camera, I only have the 5x4 back. This was I think the first camera model they made. I don't have the Half plate back, the first were non-standard and didn't take International Half plate or 7x5 film holders.

End of an era.

Sad but true. My first 5x4 monorail was a Toyo then I got a 10x8 GX but I realised that Sinar models were much easier to find parts and accessories for so I switched. Someone in France bought my 10x8. It was fun packing it securely in its metal case. It arrived unscathed.

A shame to see them go, all my monorails are Toyo, but I've not brought any of my LF kit new so I doubt it will affect me at all beyond the sentiment.
