I always enjoy looking at behind the scenes images and especially videos. For those with a darkroom, why not give us a treat and give us an interactive guided tour with your phone :)

In use just but I still hadn't finished the ceiling and it's insulation.

The little enlarger is a very rare early Gnome 35mm enlarger I was given about 1968.

Ceiling finished, the De Vere 5108 goes up into the roof apex

It was about 12"x13" before I lined it out, I guess I lost about 6". It's warm even when -10ºC or lower outside, stays about 8ºC with a heater but is easily warmed up as it's well insulated

There's 5 or 6 enlargers, two scanners and inkjet printers, a PC with numerous external hard drives (I keep 3 or 34 back ups of all digital work - that;s digital originals as well as scans).

Some enlargers will have to go soon, they aren't really needed, but I was given them for free :D

"Wet" side:

I quote "wet" because there is no plumbing to that sink! ;) All liquids are carried in/out, as needed. The print washer lives in a garden tub in the master bath.

Ian, where did you get your 220V Gralab timer?

Mike

Mike, I don't have a Gralab timer, mine's a De Vere timer, I have a few others Philips, Rayco, Stag etc for the other enlargers.

Do you mean Alan's timer over the wet bench ?

Ian

Apologies Ian, it was indeed Alan's.

In that case it'll be 110v .... i have heard that you can get 220v versions, but they are very rare.

Mike

I have one that I got in a warehouse clearout or refurbishment in Drummond Street. Can't recall if it was then KJP or Calumet, both now gone. Didn't realise it was rare.

Hi David, Rare in as much as you don't see many 220v versions come up for sale.

Regards,
Mike

I used to use a similar set up with Paterson and Jobo tanks for C41 (XP1/2) and E6 processing, quite a regular thing one or two times a week depending on how many bands I'd photographed.

Never used any tempering for B&W though in 50+ years :D
