Sad little Gandolfi tripod

I bought this for £20 at a Camera Fair, the top of the head was hanging loose, oddly it had been taken off and turned 90º

Here it is now/

That's a lovely pair of old tripods from those masters of classic British cameras/gear. I picked up a large Gandalfi tripod same as yours few years ago also for £20 online and was going to restore it but after just a clean with soapy water, it really didnt need any further work. A lovely old ebonised tripod that certainly isnt light but goes so well with my small collection of victorian wood/brass cameras!
