Photax paper

I have some pads of plain paper, roughly in the 100g weight bracket or less, fairly fibrous, but not textured like watercolour paper might be. It was my fathers and came from his darkroom clearout about 20 odd years back...

It is marked Photax on the front cover sheet, but with absolutely no other info.

Any ideas..?
