Hydrogen And Stupidity

I am happy to report that, after nearly 50 years of shooting film, I am still entirely capable of making really elementary errors.

Most recently, I managed to load several sheets of film backwards (emulsion side in) into the film holders. At least I was consistent on both sides of the holder.

This proves the old adage that the two most abundant substances in the universe are hydrogen and stupidity.

Those new to the craft who are struggling with first-timer's problems, take heed. It's possible at every level of experience...

I have heard of this being done intentionally, but with colour film. Apparently the results are “interesting.” No doubt yours have interesting characteristics too. Keep a straight face and claim that it’s Art.
