I made my own 10x8 pinhole camera out of a shoe box. I exposed one sheet of Ilford 10x8 sheet film and was blown away by the 10x8 quality, exposure 5.5 mins @ f/250

What's the focal length of this setup (roughly)? Ta.

Thanks, John, in this hi-tech digital world, where it's all about sensors, pixels, and speed, making images with a camera without even needing a lens... It's really nice and liberating to capture images in such a simple, beautiful way

Absolutely Martin. I am embarking on a Challenge to produce a Pinhole a month to a theme with a couple of friends during 2026 and looking forward to it. I have a Titan, and homemade (not by me) wooden camera and strange "zoom pinhole" so most of it I will do with 4x5 pinholes ....and also a Holga PC to travel light !

I'm planning a small exhibition in Otley, where I live, featuring contact-printed 10x8 pinhole images, all handmade in my darkroom on fibre-based paper. My son's wife has a shop in Otley town centre, and there's a space upstairs where I can display them. It's going to take a while to get all the negatives printed, mounted, and framed, but it's a great project for me – keeps my mind active!
