Great photography viewing weekend

Hi folks,

I have just visited London to see family (18-20/09/2026) and on this trip prioritised MY interests over more kids activities - lovely though it is spending time with a Pokémon obsessed 5-y.o....

The best visit was to the Photography section of the Victoria and Albert (V&A) museum in South Kensington - it was larger than I recall from a fleeting visit some years ago - and the prints on display were attractively hung, imho.

I was amazed to see that the Royal Photographic Society (RPS) Library was now housed I'm the V&A - I plan to spend some time researching there on subsequent visits.

Also interesting was "Portrait of a City: A Century of American Photography" at the Dulwich Picture Gallery - a good number of images with a big crowd to view - that was good to see.

Overall I am glad I travelled to the Gallery and in many towns and even cities the place would be a big attraction - the tricky journey by train, bus and Uber (don't ask...) means I would need a major reason to visit again.

Thanks for your report. The Dulwich exhibition is on my radar but it's a long trek for me so I'm going to give it a miss.
