Cable Release For Pentax

I have bought 3 cable releases from eBay for my Pentax SP-1000 and neither of them seems to fit right.

It’s as though the thread only bites right at the top and will not screw any further.

Does Pentax have a special cable release?

There are some variations of cable releases, the Pentax shutter releases are a straight thread, the ends of cable releases are tapered. I have cable releases that don't fit ever shutter release. I've used Pentax cameras for decades and never had an issue.

The ones I have are tapered but they seem very fragile just balancing on the end and the cable is quite long so I was concerned that the weight could snap it off.
