Interesting observation. I'd not given that conscious thought.
I specifically chose that perspective and lens to keep the trees in frame as a visual marker. Without them, this image would have been another ho-hum Clouds Above The Horizon Image.
I did contemplate a shorter lens to increase the grandeur of the sky, but the trees would have been too small to be much of a visual cue. I also had several longer lenses at my disposal but, while they would have sized the tree somewhat larger, it would have diminished the impact of the sky.
There was also the option of walking into the field with my kit to change perspective and somewhat increase the size of the trees in frame. This is something I'd ordinarily consider. But I was not properly attired or hooved to enter, given that we are in a significant deer tick season - something to be avoided with great intent
