Of Interest: Film Scanning On The Cheap

I have one of those … hopefully this will be the year I try to make some 5x4 photographs and try that method of scanning.

I keep seeing that very expensive (and excellent quality) Negative Supply and wondering why I have chosen such an expensive hobby.

YOu still need a good digital camera with a macro lens and enough pixels, plus a proper light source and steady tripod.

Now if someone could add a sensor to the unit that actually shoots and digitizes the image, that would be nice.

For now I will stick with my Epson Perfection 3200 scanner which does up to 4x5 negatives. Paid £50 for it three years ago.

If I shoot an award winner I'll send it to a lab with a drum scanner.

I don’t have any scanner but I think you’re right — it it looks like a winner send it off for the professionals to do.
