Trying new types of film.

OK, they are not new types of film but I've never used them before.
I have some 8X10 fuji Provia 100 and some Kodak Portra 400.

All films I have ever used in the past I have exposed at the manufacturers speed rating (box speed)

Rather than take internet gossip as gospel, do either of these films show a preference for under/over exposure?

If it's of any reference, I do like saturated colours.

Provia just expose bang-on box speed, nothing special necessary. Portra I'd expose at 200.

You are not the first to suggest Portra wants to be over exposed.

Yeah it is standard procedure for most colour neg emulsions.
