Rossthwaite on Velvia

The great thing with 65mm & 75mm lenses with LF cameras is the way they draw the image, and this is an excellent example. It's the purity of the design, the Hasselblad SW Distagon or Leitz 21mm M lenses are similar in feel. When a wide angle design has to compromise to accommodate an SLR's mirror, that changes how the lens draws the image, and it never seems quite as natural, seems to exaggerate more.

So great use of your 65mm and an excellent image.

The colors look unreal, no surprise there with Velvia 50, though that hasn’t detracted from the image at all. It has a dream like quality that I rather like and the composition works too. Nice one.

Nice shot. Velivia 50 is my favorite. Unfortunately, they don't make it any more in 4x5. I have two boxes of twenty in the freezer left.

Thanks Ian. Very true, I'm not a big user of wide angle lenses generally but I do enjoy the 65mm on 5x4, I only use it occasionally for it to make a nice change but it also comes in very handy at times.
