Joans Hole

Not sure why the area is called Joans Hole, maybe because a start had been made on linking the Stourport - Leomisnter Canal to Dick Brook. Work had stopped after a tunnel collapse leading to further work being abandoned. The Brook had itself been canalised with Roman Locks just after the Civil War.
