Into The Kodak Vault

Odd that neither of them know about Custom Bellows in Birmingham, although the company name has changed from |H G Glanvill, then becoming Camera Bellows and finally Custom Bellows. It's still run by descendants of H Glanvill and they made over a million sets of bellows for Kodak.

Interesting. I knew of them being a first class bellows replacement source, I was unaware of their having made bellows for Kodak ...

Remember Kodak Ltd was a separate company to Eastman Kodak and had some autonomy also controlling plants in Germany, Hungary and subsidiaries in Australia and New Zealand. Before WW1 Kodak sold some items imported from EK, but after WW1 nearly everything was made in the UK and later from the Nagel factory in Germany. The main exception was Graflex cameras but with British lenses.

Of course the ties were deep after all initially all the senior staff at Harrow Research and Rochester Research had worked together at Wratten & Wainwright under GEK Mees, and for a while Eastman Kodak were the distributors of Ross & Cooke lenses in the US while Kodak Ltd distributed them in Australia and New Zealand.
