I made this photograph with two reasons in mind, one was to continue my testing with Zone placement metering and the other was to test the high dilution development with HC110.

The original egg was not white, it was the standard colour, I visualised it to be white so after some poking round with the spot meter, I finally came up with an exposure which would place the egg where I wanted and still allow the other areas to fall below zone IX.

As for the development, I am experimenting using HC110 diluted at 1+119 with minimal agitation.

The initial agitation was continuous for 1 minute followed by 15 seconds every 4 minutes. The total development time was 20 minutes.

I like the glowing diffuse highlight on the egg. How did you light this shot? It's very effective.

I used a 3 foot by 2 foot soft box which was placed directly above and slightly behind the egg.

White on white with a 'broad light' is probably one of the most difficult 'challenges' you can 'face'.

Well done Ian !!!!
