A natural window lit portrait of my girlfriend

Pretty girl. I think I'd give her more room on the right to look into. Being so close to the border pulls the viewer to look to the right outside the picture rather than the subject. Also, her left eye's iris blends in with her hair making it disappear and look a little like it's missing. If you can lighten up the left side, it would help differentiate her head from the shadowed background. There's a thread on her outfit on her right side that should be eliminated. Also, next time straighten out her necklace. It looks off centered. There's a black spot on her chest between the thread and her necklace that doesn't belong. also, there a dust or hair mark that was on the negative near her left shoulder. Nice shot.

Thanks for the feedback. I seem to always rush to get the picture out there then find that I missed this and missed that. Moving further away from the window is something that I will definitely think about the next time we try the window light pose. Thanks

I rush too to get it out there. Then I too see all sorts of things. Best to wait awhile and recheck.

There might be a little difficulty in photographing people who are close to us. Somehow, we have to suspend our affection for the moment and make ourselves detached, treating them as just another problem in lighting and composition. Then we can more easily see all those details mentioned above.
