This is a rare example of a used Mido 5x4 lightweight and super-slim double dark slide system complete with holder, 16 double dark slides, film tags and spare sheets of 5x4 film to practice using the system.

Each Mido dark slide is approximately 1/5th the thickness of a conventional double dark slide making them ideally suited to the location photographer looking to save a massive amount of weight and reduce bulk. It's also a great saving on cost when compared to conventional double dark slides.

    Mido Dark Slide Holder
    16 Double Dark Slides
    Spare sheet film for practice
£50 inc. postage (P&P extra outside the UK)

Ok, I'll take them. We're in France so the postage might be different, or we can pick them up when we are passing in March.

I've just read that there are two versions. Can you tell me which these are?

    Hi Joanna

You're right about postage, I should have said UK free P&P.. That said, I reckon posting them to France will be about £15.00 tracked. If you're happy to add that cost then let me know and send me an email to replies@timwoodcock.co.uk and we can sort it out.

    Hi Ian

I believe they were developed and manufactured in the US and arrived on the scene in the mid 1980s.

    Joanna,
Will you be writing a short review after you've had some experience with them? The review you quote does mention some drawbacks as well as the lightness and compactness. I remember using a Grafmatic back...

    Hi David

I won't be writing reviews but I can say the review I pointed Joanna to was a fair assessment. I used the Mido system for many years, often loading/re-loading them in a changing bag on the back seat of a people carrier. They are more tricky to use than a conventional dark slide but, with practice, the Mido thin film slides performed well.

When new, the set I have for sale cost over £200. I felt it was well worth it.

We - Morco Ltd - were the UK distributor. They were made in the US in around the 1990's. Great to see that there arte still some around.
