I love everything about this, Ian. The tonality in the blow torch itself, the beautiful smooth falloff of focus, the feeling of cold hard metal against the softness of the wood, and the ever so slightly off-center placement of the main subject.
Alan has summed this up beautifully, a superb picture. Unless my eyes deceive me that is one of the rare and dangerous breed of petrol blowlamps!
Beautiful tones...I really want to touch and feel the metal
May be a bit hot? ;-))
Now this I like a lot. Pin sharp and lovely composition. How did you light it Ian?
I lit this with a soft-box just using the modelling lamp
