Here in Berlin, I have the opportunity to use a Hasselblad X1 scanner for a very reasonable price. Unfortunately, the film holders I can use are all of the prefabricated, default kind. The 4x5” ones are 94x119mm, which doesn’t allow for the whole image surface to be included in the scan.

Does anyone on the Forum have practical experience (or know about someone) using custom-made film holders with sheet film? In particular I’m asking myself whether or not the contact surface of a holder of, say, 97x121 or 97x122mm is sufficient to firmly hold a 4x5” sheet in the holder while it bends inside the scanner?

I posted the same question over at largeformatphotography.info the other day. Two forum members recommended a Chinese maker of Imacon/Hasselblad holders who sell through the large auction site. The name to look for is louw2008. Quality is said to be excellent.

I just thought I'd share this in case anyone is interested.

Everyone at the forum and beyond have a most pleasant continuation of yuletide!

In response to my question, the owner of the above-mentioned ebay store sent me the following link: https://www.ebay.com/str/louw2008, advising me to use ebay.com instead of ebay.co.uk. I will upload a brief report once I've taken delivery and have had the opportunity to use the holders.
